Standard 1: How we incorporate this into our child care teaching style: These puppets all have feeling and sayings on them. Each child at the daycare knows about the puppets and even if they cannot read. Every child knows that sad
monkey is the animal to grab when you are upset with a friend or teacher. Children sometimes find it easier to
use the puppets to help them convey their feelings, when the words are not working for them; sometimes their feelings are so jumbled up. The kids know what they want to say, but they cannot figure out the
proper words to express themselves. These puppets help them express themselves all n alleviating the stress of
finding the right words. These puppets also help when it is whisper time a child will walk around with whisper
bunny helping to remind the children it is time to whisper. Each of these puppets help children communicate with another child or an adult. Encouraging each child will feel a sense of belonging and acceptance with his or her peers or with the teachers.
